UV Active Colours
UV-active paints react to a suitable ultraviolet source and create a striking fluorescent effect under the right lighting. Individual products may be intended for decorations, a specific surface or another precisely stated purpose. Before choosing, check the application method, substrate and compatible UV light. Do not use the paint on skin unless the manufacturer explicitly states that you can.
The resulting shade is affected by the substrate colour, layer thickness, ambient light and UV source used. Test a sample on a small, inconspicuous area first. Its appearance under normal lighting may differ from the effect under UV light.
For decorations, check what material the product is intended for and whether it requires a primer or protective coating. Follow the information on the packaging for drying time, thinning and cleaning tools. Do not mix different products without confirmed compatibility.
If the paint is intended for the body or face, follow the instructions and warnings for the specific product. Decorative paint is not automatically a cosmetic product. If you have sensitive skin or the intended use is unclear, choose another product with an explicitly stated use.
Position the UV source according to its documentation and do not look directly into the light. The required power and distance depend on the specific light and space. Test the entire effect under the same lighting conditions before the event.
Compare the paint's intended use, volume, application method, drying time and required UV source. Choose a product according to the material and use specified by the manufacturer, not the photograph of the effect.
