UV Lights
UV lights emit ultraviolet radiation that illuminates materials with a fluorescent effect: white clothing, special paints, certain plastics or markings on walls. They create a striking visual effect in a dark room, which is why they are used in clubs, at concerts, in selected theatre scenes and at themed events. When choosing, check the shape of the fixture, control method, IP rating and the area you need to illuminate.
Which type of UV light should you choose?
| Type | Particularly suitable for | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| UV LED strips and bars | Stages, walls or ceilings in clubs and rehearsal rooms | Bar length, number of LEDs and optional DMX control |
| UV panels | Even illumination of a larger area | Panel dimensions and mounting method |
| UV spotlights | Directional lighting of objects or people | Beam angle and distance from the target |
| Outdoor models with an IP rating | Outdoor spaces and venues where the fixture must withstand moisture | IP rating specified in the parameters |
What to look for when choosing
Consider the distance from the area being illuminated, as UV radiation weakens quickly. Check whether you can control the light via DMX or independently, and whether you only want a static effect or also a strobe. Consider its weight and mounting method during installation. The range includes lights from Light4Me, Eurolite and ADJ.
What goes with a UV effect
Do not point UV light directly into the eyes, and follow the manufacturer's instructions during prolonged use.
UV light has little effect without suitable material, so take a look at UV-active paints that glow under UV light. If you need a replacement source, you can find one among the UV light sources. You can find the complete selection in the UV equipment category.
